Silverlight Test Version Released By Microsoft

Microsoft Corp., the world’s largest software maker, released a test version of its new Silverlight online media program. This program is said to be a rival to Adobe Systems Inc.’s  dominant Flash player. At Microsoft’s MIX ‘07 conference for Web developers and designers, the company said it will also offer a companion service that allows streaming video for Silverlight.

Text Input Device For xBox 360

xBox 360 has decided to add more things to the line-up this year. It seems that Microsoft has created a Text Input Device, which will enable gamers to chat with their friends on Windows Live Messenger. This input device is simply a clip on keyboard and is going to be released this summer.

Sony Lowers Price Of PSP Portable

Sony stated to the news that they will be cutting the price of the PlayStation Portable handheld game from $199 down to $169. Sony was expected to make this move after the close of its fiscal year. This move will apparently weaken the Japanese companies. Jack Tretton, president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment America, stated in an interview that Sony has sold and shipped more than 25 million PSPs to stores now and the high volumes are allowing it to become more efficient in manufacturing.
