There are numerous components to our cars that we do not usually think of something as little as the light bulb. That is until one night when we get in the car and we do not have the power to see anything because it is broken. You will have the ability to attempt to live without them but you will soon discover just how hard that may be.

Changing out your vehicle’s light bulbs is very simple though it can look a little bit confusing when you have never finished it before. The first thing you need to do is to make a point that all power to the light is cut off. On your dash you will find a light switch that will do this for you. This will assist to keep you from shocking yourself.

The bulk of light dome covers have the ability to be removed by unscrewing it or by popping it off. Certain use plastic tabs to keep it in place. After you have taken away this cover you need to remove the old bulb. You should have the new bulb with you. To know what kind of bulb to have you have the ability to visit an auto parts store and tell them the make, model, and year of the vehicle. They will be able to provide you what you want with that data.

Be careful when pulling out the light bulb so that you do not break it. Observe the socket that it was in and make sure that there is no dirt in it. Otherwise this may make the new one to break quicker then it should and force you to spend more money. If there is dirt you will be able to use a simple emery cloth to clean it.

To replace the light bulb you should grab the glass portion of it and press it into the socket. Make sure that it fits in it equally and snaps into place. After it is in you will have the ability to put the dome cover back on and turn the light switch on to see if it functions properly.
